Chromosomal Abnormalities Associated with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortions in Iraqi Women
نویسنده
چکیده
Chromosomal analysis is an important etiological investigation in couples with repeated spontaneous abortions as it helps in genetic counseling and deciding about further reproductive options. Abortions ,specially first trimester abortions is a very common complication and a matter of concern for couples planning pregnancy. Balanced chromosomal rearrangements in either parent is an important cause of recurrent pregnancy loss particularly in the first trimester. In this study there is an evaluation of the contribution of chromosomal anomalies in causing repeated spontaneous abortions. To understand the cytogenetic causes in the couples with spontaneous abortions ,cytogenetic study was done on 61 couples (122 individuals) with recurrent spontaneous abortions who were examined for chromosomal abnormalities and aberrations. Women who had at least two abortions, or spontaneous abortions preceded or followed by fetal deaths or birth of a malformed child. We have found 9.83% of all cases carrying chromosomal aberrations and abnormalities included 7.37% of all cases were structural aberrations & 2.45 of all cases were numerical anomalies. تايقارعلا ءاسنلا يف رركتملا ضاهجلإا تلااح يف ةيموسوموركلا تاهوشتلا ةسارد ةصلاخلا

Evaluation of chromosomal changes in patients with spontaneous abortion in Khozestan province
Objective: Approximately 15-20% of clinically recognizable pregnancies end in spontaneous abortion. The incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in those abortions is as high as 50%.A modest but clinically important proportion of spontaneous abortions is caused by a balanced chromosomal aberration in one o...

The most significant complication of pregnancy is recurrent miscarriage. Numerous factors have been described as associations with recurrent wastage such as: uterine abnormalities, immunological factors, endocrinologic imbalance and chromosomal defects. Cytogenetic evaluation of couples with recurrent pregnancy losses is performed on the basis of G-banding technique only after other possible et...

Background Cytogenetic study of reproductive wastage is an important aspect in determining the genetic background of early embryogenesis. Approximately 15 to 20% of all pregnancies in humans are terminated as recurrent spontaneous abortions (RSAs). The aim of this study was to detect chromosome abnormalities in couples with RSAs and to compare our results with those reported previously. Materia...
متن کاملBalanced Chromosomal Rearrangement in Recurrent Spontaneous Abortions: A Case Report
One of the major causes of spontaneous abortion before the fourth month of pregnancy is chromosomal abnormalities. We report an unusual case of a familial balanced chromosomal translocation in a consanguineous couple who experienced 4 spontaneous abortions. Chromosomal studies were performed on the basis of G-banding technique at high resolution and revealed 46, XX, t (16 6) (p12 q26) and 46, X...
